China Unicom: Promote the use of construction and simultaneously promote the deployment of gigabit optical networks

Data is the ‘oil’ of the development of the digital economy, and broadband is the ‘engine, internal combustion engine’ that ignites the ‘oil’. Zhang Yunyong, general manager of China Unicom Product Center, gave a very vivid analogy in his speech. He said that Gigabit optical network + 5G will empower thousands of industries to digitize, and high-quality "dual Gigabit" networks are the core of the digital economy. Among them, the gigabit optical network includes gigabit optical bandwidth and all-optical transmission network.

In order to accelerate the comprehensive digital transformation of enterprises, China Unicom is adhering to “promoting the use of construction and simultaneously promoting the use of construction”, and promotes Gigabit optical network coverage for digital homes/individuals, digital industries and digital governments. In the digital home/personal field, China Unicom has achieved 230 million optical port coverage, and is promoting the prosperity of smart home, AR/VR, social interaction, mobile payment, high-definition video, smart voice and other applications, providing families and individuals with a high-quality life ; In the field of digital industry, it has achieved coverage of 80,000 buildings, and is promoting the application of smart finance, smart security, online education, telemedicine, smart mining, smart manufacturing and other industries to empower the high-quality development of the digital industry; in the field of digital government, China Unicom OTN has covered more than 300 cities, helping the government to efficiently manage public services, social governance, online office, information disclosure, and intelligent transportation.

In terms of home broadband, China Unicom will continue to promote the "1+4+X" smart home strategy, 1 represents high-speed connections, including Gigabit 5G, Gigabit broadband and Gigabit Wi-Fi; 4 stands for 4 core capabilities, including cloud Capabilities, business capabilities, portal capabilities, and platform capabilities; X represents the industry ecology, including content ecology, application ecology, terminal ecology, channel ecology, and operation ecology to promote the extension of broadband services from “one line” to “one home”, so that Gigabit family can further develop. At present, China Unicom has established industry benchmark projects in Tianjin and Qinghai: Tianjin Unicom has achieved 100% Gigabit home coverage, laying a solid network foundation for smart education, smart video and smart home applications; Qinghai Unicom adopts Huawei F5G Super-sites, through the deployment of a total of wireless fixed-line networks, can achieve coverage of 2 kilometers with one pole, and can open services in three days, bringing new applications such as remote cow watching, live delivery of goods, and telemedicine to rural areas.

In terms of comprehensively empowering the digital transformation of government and enterprises, China Unicom will continue to carry out the "Cloud Light and Smart Enterprise" enterprise cloud special project, and plans to achieve coverage of more than 1,000 buildings in 30 cities and 400 buildings in 100 cities by 2022. It provides one-stop information service of cloud + network + X; on the other hand, it will help top enterprises to enter the cloud through the government and enterprise boutique network. It is planned to achieve 100% convergence coverage in 150 cities in 2021. Enterprises provide ultra-low latency, a direct, deterministic SLA cloud-light integrated quality service. Zhang Yunyong also emphasized that to help the digital industry upgrade, Gigabit optical network and 5G network alone are not enough. China Unicom also has a deep deployment of cloud network edge end industry, with cloud platform carrier, ultra-broadband builder, and edge cloud provider. , The promoters of pan-terminals and the aggregators of new ecology comprehensively promote platform-based, intelligent, scenario-based, and ecological development, so as to better provide families, enterprises and governments with digitalization and integration.

China Telecom: Gigabit optical network is the foundation of cloud network integration

"Cloud-network convergence is the technological base for new infrastructure and enterprise digital transformation, and gigabit optical network is one of the foundations for cloud-network convergence." Zhang Chengliang, deputy general manager of China Telecom’s Science and Technology Innovation Department, said that China Telecom has proposed that "network is the foundation." , Cloud is the core, the network moves with the cloud, and the cloud and network are integrated" cloud-network integration strategy, with the network as the foundation, and cloud-network integration can only be achieved if the foundation is well established. To this end, China Telecom insists on driving the deployment of Gigabit optical networks with customer scenarios, practicing "network is the foundation" to empower thousands of industries, and the linkage of end-pipe-cloud to promote industrial digitization. On the end side, 3 Gigabit services are provided for homes and industries through 10G PON, FTTR, 5G, Wi-Fi 6 and other technologies; on the tube side, large bandwidth, low latency, and intelligence are provided through OXC, 200G/400G and other technologies In the cloud, through the "2+4+31+X" cloud-network integration resource layout, it provides enterprises with cloud-side collaboration and multi-cloud access services. Zhang Chengliang said that the more connections on the end-side, the higher the access rate, and the higher the requirements for the capability of the backbone network, which will also bring more demand to the cloud. Facing the industry, he focused on China Telecom’s industrial PON practice cases. Relying on China Telecom’s high-quality cloud network resources, it can build an interconnected, flexible and secure dedicated network for the industrial field, enabling industrial cloud network collaboration and edge intelligent applications. At present, PON in the telecom industry has been deployed in more than 100 companies including Weichai, XCMG, and China Gou Steel Construction, achieving connection of millions of industrial equipment, helping companies to digitally transform.

For families, China Telecom is promoting the evolution of gigabit networks and comprehensively innovating home networks through whole-house Wi-Fi, the introduction of FTTR, a visual, manageable and maintainable intelligent operation and maintenance system, home gateway intelligence, and integration of SDN technologies. In terms of the OTN quality of government and enterprise into the cloud, China Telecom is building a "one stop" for the government and enterprise market with the advantages of all-optical interconnection, one jump into the cloud, cloud-side collaboration, and government-enterprise OTN quality private lines that can guarantee deterministic SLAs. The cloud-network fusion products of “style purchase + integrated services” will accelerate the empowerment industry application.

China Mobile: Gigabit intelligent optical network is the cornerstone of the development of "Data Intelligence Cloud Network"

Facing the major issue of economic and social digital transformation, China Mobile proposes that the economic and social digital transformation presents the new characteristics of "five verticals and three horizontals". The five verticals are the digitization of infrastructure, the digitization of social governance, the digitization of production methods, the digitization of work methods, and the digitization of lifestyles. Three horizontal lines are the three common requirements of digital transformation: online, intelligent, and cloud. According to various statistics, driven by the "five verticals", the scale of China's digital economy has reached 60 trillion yuan, and the three horizontals will bring the domestic software and information service industry revenue to 13 trillion yuan.

Duan Xiaodong, deputy dean of China Mobile Research Institute, said that in order to support the growth of the digital economy, the future will develop towards the "digital intelligence cloud network", that is, with digitization and intelligence as the core connotation, with "the network as the foundation, the cloud as the center, and the cloud Network integration; intelligence is the core, number is value, and integration of numbers and intelligence is the core concept to create a new type of cloud-network integration infrastructure. Gigabit intelligent optical network, as the cornerstone of the development of the "Digital Cloud Network", will transform from the "Gigabit" connection capability of bandwidth to the "Gigabit" service capability of bandwidth + experience.

He believes that the gigabit intelligent optical network is mainly composed of four parts: gigabit fixed network, gigabit 5G, high-quality transmission network and intelligence. Gigabit fixed network and Gigabit 5G need high-quality transmission network to support, intelligentization of end-to-end network to inject intelligence and empowerment, in order to improve business understanding, accelerate business innovation, the overall upgrade of these four parts to promote Gigabit The development of intelligent optical network. At the same time, the "Gigabit" service capability of bandwidth + experience includes three features: one is end-to-end gigabit, that is, it has end-to-end gigabit capabilities from users, terminals, gateways to the network; the other is intelligent gigabit, namely It can build intelligent services through perception services and networks, and introduce AI to empower intelligent operation and maintenance; the third is the ultimate gigabit, that is, the ultimate service experience with low latency and high reliability.

To this end, in terms of gigabit fixed network deployment, China Mobile will continue to improve its wired broadband capabilities and build an end-to-end gigabit fixed network. On the one hand, the OLT at the central office side of the PON network is fully shifted to 10G GPON deployment and supports the GPON-compatible Combo mode; on the other hand, the deployment of 10G GPON+Gigabit Gateway+Wi-Fi 6 realizes the “end-to-end Gigabit fixed network” capability .

In terms of Gigabit 5G, China Mobile is fully introducing 50G/100G/200G high-speed interfaces in the 5G backhaul network. The fronthaul network uses 25G WDM technology to create ultra-wide pipelines to meet "Gigabit 5G". Among them, China Mobile has two major technology systems in the 5G backhaul and fronthaul fields: SPN (Sliced Packet Network) and semi-active MWDM. SPN supports 50G/10G interfaces at the access layer, and supports 100G/200G and above interfaces at the convergence/core layer; semi-active MWDM technology supports 25G MWDM/CWDM. At the same time, the optical network also provides a safe isolation, ultra-low latency, and ultra-large bandwidth bearing capacity base for the 5G industry private network to support the ultimate performance of the 5G ToB industry private network.

In terms of building an intelligent OTN optical network, China Mobile will continue to improve network bandwidth, optimize network architecture, develop network SDN capacity building, deepen network transformation and upgrade, and deeply match the development of cloud services, based on the improvement of basic network capabilities. Simplify the structure, provide optimized services, and continue to build the OTN optical network base.

In general, the three major operators attach great importance to the development of gigabit optical networks, and their directions are converging.
